I know that we all agree that we should not be handing over our money to theses companies. But isn't the DVLA the biggest culperate. Without them none of these companies could operate. This is from a Freedom of Information Request to the DVLA
.“In 2009 how many requests for personal details were made by Excel Parking Services Ltd (Sheffield)?”
2. “Also how much did Excel Parking Services Ltd pay in charges to the DVLA?”
Answer: The information is held. I can confirm the total amount of information requests dealt with by DVLA from Excel Parking Management Ltd for 2009 was 51,479.
The total amount of revenue collected by the Agency for these requests was £123,590.
Aren't the DVLA just selling on our informtion -Perhaps we should be getting onto the Information Commissioner https://www.ico.gov.uk and asking him to investigate this trade in selling information

Private Parking Tickets - Make sure you put your Subject Access Request in after 25th May 2018 - It's free & ask for everything, don't forget the DVLA

The vehicle registration document gives them your permission.0

Sounds like a bit of a contradiction to me. We don't have an option, We have to have it. Usually there is another bit of legislation floating about to get round this sort of thing like the Road Traffic Act?Private Parking Tickets - Make sure you put your Subject Access Request in after 25th May 2018 - It's free & ask for everything, don't forget the DVLA

Both the DVLA and the ICO are government departments. The DVLA makes millions of pounds per year for the government from this scam. How likely do you think they are to investigate?0 -

Im offering odds of 1,000,000,000,000 to 1 that they investigate?
Any takers?I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
Seek legal help if unsure.

Just for information their are now 54 companies who have electronic access to the DVLA database. Many of them private parking ticket companies. Like Vehicle Control Solutions operating as Flashpark.
And Excel Parking.
This access is granted when the company is a British Parking Association "Approved Operator".
Enough said..................!0
