Advice on legally selling on a festival ticket

Hi
My teenage son persuaded me to buy a weekend ticket for the Leeds Festival instead of coming on holiday with us.

He has since picked up some work over the summer helping at various festivals and has decided that he would now prefer the holiday.

I don't want to make money on the ticket, just get back what we paid. To make things more difficult we haven't got the physical ticket yet, just the email confirming we have paid for it. (we bought through one of the official sites).

Can I sell this on?
Where would be the best place?
Do I just send the buyer the email confirmation I have and then send on the ticket when it comes?

Thanks

I think you may have difficulties, you only really manage to shift tickets for purchase price or over if the event is sold out (I dont know if Leeds festival is).
Selling without the tickets isnt usually a problem, I have done this a few times when I have booked to go places and then other commitments have meant that I couldnt. All I used to to was list the tickets on eBay as an auction or Buy It Now and in the listing state that the tickets are not yet in hand, but you do have confirmation from xxx company that you are getting them and will be happy to provide it.
Then once somebody has bought them you need to ensure that the second the tickets come through your door they are sent out Royal Mail Special Delivery (NOT recorded delivery) to ensure that the buyer has them next day as the ticket companies only send the tickets out about a week before the event.

The above advice is if the tickets arent named i.e. you need to provide ID when you get there to proove you are who is on the ticket. As i have no idea how festivals work.

Hope that helps, and you will probably take a hit on the ticket price if it is not a sell out.

Seatwave is a safe bet, and organise the delivery of the tickets, but they charge you 10% fees.

Try viagogo, it's the official buying and selling of Leeds & Reading festival tickets after they've sold out, but you are looking at over the original price.
