About six weeks ago, I planted some peas, and some beans, in individual pots, and lined them all up on the conservatory windowsills. After three weeks of careful love and attention, watering, keeping covered... I realised I was watering empty pots of compost: I hadn't actually put the damn seeds in... which usually helps quite a lot :o

Sorry to interrupt, but how big should leeks be before they go out? Mine are about 6 inches but still very skinny. They are in a 24 cell seed tray and the roots are just coming out the bottom, so do I pot on or put out?

You can put them in a corner of your garden somewhere, module by module, water them in and leave them be until the summer harvests are up and then transplant into their final positions when you have space.

I only realised once I decided to have a good old dig around in the compost to see if anything was happening. Seemed a bit 'strange' to me how not a single seed had germinated. Imagine my dismay to find not a single seed, nothing... then after thinking back to the day in question, I remember I had got sidetracked just before putting seeds in, came back to the job 10 minutes later, watered them all and took them inside :rotfl:

I think getting side-tracked is an occupational hazard for gardeners. Usually it also includes misplacing tools in my case, leaving them down having noticed a 5 minute job that needing doing and then forgetting about what I was doing in the first place.

I got a wilkos pot which was one that came with soil and seeds in a paper type pot with plastic pot inside.

I sowed 9 seeds only one came. Odd thing is identical plant is growing in other posts which confused me whether its a weed or chillies?

I now transplanted them in pots but unsure if they weeds or peppers

Savemoney - just nipped outside and your plants look just like my chillies. I grew 3 plants last year and thought they were red peppers, so when they fruited tiny peppery shaped things, I bit one  they were not tiny red peppers - of course they were chilli's

Planted 5 types of tomatoes but the labels washed off a couple so they may be teeny tiny tom's or giant ones - just hope the one I gave my Mum for her kitchen window is a tiny one????

I do try and label everything but I forget so there is one mystery tub left in the garden, just hoping I left it empty for big tom's

They do look like chilis if it wasn't for the side stems - usually they produce flowers there not more stems with leaves on.

Also, even though the leaves look the same shape, they don't look as dark as pepper type plants.

There's only one way to find out though!
