Bathroom installation taking ages.

Hello,

I'm currently having my bathroom done by Chandlers Kitchens & Bathrooms (bought the suite from Wickes - they use Chandlers to install) yet it's taking absolutely ages to finish, even though it should have been completed a couple of weeks ago.

They gave me a proposed installation date of 4th May, with the aim of having it finished in 10 days. They didn't actually arrive until the 5th and it's now the 3rd of June and I still havent got full use of the bathroom.

All the tiling is done and the sink, toilet and bath are installed and plumbed in, though we can't use the bath at the moment due to the ceiling not being finished (it's been plastered and that's it. We're waiting for one of their electritions to come round and install some lights. If we use the bath we'll likely make the plaster wet again due to no current extraction fan).

At one point the tilers had to leave half way through their job due to the guy incharge wanting them to go and fit someones kitchen!!!??? Then for the next couple of days they were late arriving, again due to the fact that they were at another job. It's just not on.

The whole situation is workable for my 22 week pregnant girlfriend and I, though it's a pain to keep having to travel to work just to have a shower

We haven't even heard anything from them the last 2 days. Surely I'd be within my right to ask for money off on the installation price?

Do I have reason to complain to some trades authority or something???

*I should just note, that the work they have done so far is great and the bathroom is really coming along. It's the lack of communication, planning and time frame that's really the problem here. It's an inconvenience.*

So how much money have you paid already, and how much more money is still to be paid?

    Paid Chandlers £1388.12 upfront.

Owe them 715.09 of the original price + a further £1620 for the tiling, lights etc (inc. ripping the original bathroom to pieces).
