Is he really selling £1,500 car audio for £300?

I was looking for particular models of in-dash DVD and SAT-NAV car audio and came across this chap;
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Pioneer-Avic-X1-DVD-Navigation-Sat-Nav_W0QQitemZ250022272345QQihZ015QQcategoryZ112744QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
All looks highly suspect, particularly as he doesn't appear to have sold items of any value previously. In one sale he says the goods are in Northampton (where I am) so I was thinking about calling his bluff and seeing if he actually had this number of units.

Looks very much like it could be too good to be true, but let us know if it is genuine, a bargain!0

it does seem very cheap to be honest why does he want you to contact him before bidding something is not right.
But if you are in the area then why not go along for a look before you bid if it's a genuine sale then they won't mind0 -

Thanks for the link. I've reported him but I'll see if he's still there in a couple of days.user051105 wrote:Offering an item for sale outside of ebay, this contadicts there rules. Report him using http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/contact_us/_base/index.html, hope it helps
There are a lot of obvious scammers out there when it comes to high value goods, not only those who don't have the goods but also those selling high value goods from China of dubious quality, and I don't think Amazon are doing themselves any favours by allowing Chinese sellers to advertise their low quality equipment on their site.0 -
The seller has no feedback from sales at all and then suddenly lists a whole batch of high end goods and insists people email him (note the email bit and not 'ask seller a question'. I would lay odds that this is a hijacked account.
The other thing that stands out is that his auction style changes, the only bit that looks the same is the stuff in bold about contacting him. So possibly he has also used other peoples auctions.
I can't explain the collection suggestion though unless he intends to ask for paypal in advance and then collection from a fake address a few days later.
Anyway, he breaches the no off ebay sales so worth reporting if only to stop others being scammed.
