Do I need more protection on my laptop?

Hi there
I have a fairly new pc which gave me a free norton period, then wants lots of cashto continue!!
After reading this, I think I'll choose avira ( I think avast only gives you a month or so free these days?)

Does anyone know how I can uninstall the norton and then does anyone have a direct link for avira please?

Thank you for that, but last time I used avast it said it was expiring after a month aND I HAD TO PAY! LOL OOPS SORRY

Then you download the TRIAL PAY version, not the free one

No, I definitely did the free one but it was a while back.
Now I've done the avira one and it said downloading. Page has now changed to this http://www.filehippo.com/
But I can't see the antivirus anywhere!

Have clicked back now and clicked link again. Then clicked the other link below it and it is now defo downloading! lol

It now says I need to disable windows defender. Is that safe to do? I always worry about these blinking things in case the anti virus is realy GIVING you a virus!

I am going to have to leave it anyway, it says to open the innterface of windows defender !!!!!!????????????????????????????????????????????????? lmao Haven't a clue what that is or where to find it
Then it says click tools, options then disable use real time protection and use windows defender

Can I turn windows defender back on after installation? It says it is leaving the comnmputer at risk?

OK all done many thanks, but it does say it is only protected until september 2011. Is it only free for 15 months this one?
