Hsbc blocking my cards

Hi Folks,
i wonder if you can help me. I have been with hsbc for 3 years and never defaulted anything with healthy bank and credit card account.
Now while abroad hsbc blocked my cards as they suspected some had been cloned. I informed them I was abroad and I didn't receive any call or message from them.
A month before in UK they blocked my account as possible suspicious activity. I was getting married and had few extra expenses. Again no warning or call.
The questions are:
1. Can I take any action against the bank?
2. Can you suggest a better bank as I am fed up with them.
Thanks

1. No
It says on their website that if you go abroad you can inform them and they won't block your card. Why did you not do this?
How were the bank or a computer to know you were having extra expenses because of a wedding. What would you think if someone had cloned your card, spent at will, and had spent all your money. Then you had to wait months for the bank and police to investigate?
They block cards for suspected fraud. I'd rather them be overprotective than under.0 -
Thanks. I did inform them that I was abroad, emailed them through the secure Internet banking message center and also filled in online form with details of hotels I was going to stay.
They couldn't know I was getting married but they could call me to verify rather than block everything without warning. They have all my numbers and email.0 -
As you have said they should contact you, I know when I had my HSBC Credit Card on the few occasions they did call sometimes the same day and sometimes the next.David
