I have 2 cucumber plants growing in my greenhouse. When I checked them yesterday I noticed they had lots of little cucumbers on them:j Can anyone advise me on feeding them. Do I give them tomato food or a general feed? I'm sorry but I've never grown my own before so I'm a bit clueless:o

I am going to use mira*** gro on mine. dont the plants need different nutrients?Loving the sunny days!0

Generally a tomato food should do the trick, Mir***e grow is better than nothing but may well be too balanced to cues and toms.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I grew cucs for the first time last year and am looking forward to more this year. I fed them with same as I fed tomatoes, they seemed quite happy. remember to trail them up some string though. Good luck:T0

How do you trail them up string? Mine is still in a pot with two tendrils attached to a stick but I want to plant it out and haven't worked out the best way.0 -
Mine are in growbags in the greenhouse so I have looped the string under the growbag and fixed to a roof truss. There is a string for each cuc plant and they are positioned directly above the plant. The tendrils soon find there way to the string and cling on for dear life. good luck:j0

I am doing this, but with canes. My Telegraph cukes are produceing now as well, but oddly there doesn't appear to be any sign of climbing tendrills, very odd, as my variety is supposed to be a climber.0

I Found some 4" square wire fencing cut it to about 12" wide and they climb happily in and out of that. The solving of a problem lies in finding the solvers.0 -
I'm using organic seaweed feed with good results. I'm into organic gardening lately0

Can anyone confirm if the flowers only last a short time or should they continue to grow as the cucumber itself grows? My first flower was looking a bit dried out anfter a couple of days just.0

There are two types of floweres, male & female
The males die off, the females usually dry of & are often left on the ends of the growing cucumber
Eitehr way, both types do not keep growing, new flowers take their place as the plant grows upwardsNumerus non sum0
