We have some roof insulation but not enough and would like to buy some more, to reduce the heating bills this winter.
Where is the cheapest place to buy it from? We live in East Yorkshire if that makes a difference?
Thank you
Vikki

Sorry got no answer for you..... I'm looking for the same answer.... Have contacted my local council but we're not eligible for help with the cost.2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j0

I'd try Wickes, personally. They are usually very cheap for that sort of stuff.0

It's surprisingly difficult stuff to find. Buy most of my DIY stuff on the 'net .. but gave up on this. Try your local builders merchants? You'll probably need it delivered - as it's a bit bulky / messy for the car .. not to say 'itchy'.;)
Got mine from Merritt & Fryers in Skipton. Reasonable price - inclusive delivery - and the sort of stuff that's already part cut so you can choose how to split it depending on joist spans. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
Hi Vikki
I bought a few rolls of insulation from Wickes and laid it myslef in an afternoon (remember to mask, goggle and cover up) Think it worked out about £70 to do the whole loft, which is about 5m x 5m. I pulled up al lthe old stuff and replaced it but bee told since that going straight over it works better
Good luck0 -
Builders merchants should be cheapest for this. And they deliver free.
Remember they will quote a price before vat.
I paid £2.60 per square meter for mine.
Apart from obvious goggles gloves and mask, watch that your wrists arent exposed. Its thinner skin here.
And if you can unwrap it in the loft so it doesnt get all round the house.0 -

Worth a phone call to see if you qualify, or, apply on-line.0 -
Remember to get the insulation as thick as possible and leave the old stuff down!I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0

Call your energy supplier. We got a superb deal on cavity wall and loft insulation earlier this year by going directly to Powergen. All suppliers have a legal obligation to do energy conservation work and many choose to do this by providing subsidised insulation.

Wickes is cheap. I bought from them a short while ago, they were doing a Bogof sponsored by british gas. did my whole loft for around £70 which isnt bad for a 4 bed detached.0
