multiple life insurance policies?!?

I have two properties, one of which is rented out. Im looking at mortgage life/critical insurance for both properties, do I add up the cost of both properties and put them on one life insurance policy or can I have two policies one for each? I dont want to void one with another but adding them both as one seems to be very expensive!

If the liabilities have different terms then you should insure then separately as the needs are different.
