Hiya, im now in the middle of wallpapering my house and i really want to try using some bold wallpaper in my living room, just 1 wall though, but what wall should i put it on? i was thinking either side of the chimney breast but one recess is wider than the other, will this look strange? then i thought maybe the chimney breast but the fireplace isn't in the center of the breast, so would that look a bit weird? the opposite wall to the fireplace has a door to the side into the hall, then the 3rd wall has a window and 4th wall a door into the kitchen, so i couldnt really wallpaper 1 of them in a bold pattern could i? any advice at all really apreciated! x

Go for it, whichever wall you think is the best for you!
This room I'm in now has wicker all round with mid green on the back wall, my little tribute to Edward Woodwood (The Wicker Man ) and Patrick McGoohan (The Prisoner)
I had bold in my old bathroom and it looked amazing. People are scared of a bit of colour these days.......

In a perfect world it would be balanced, but I wouldn't worry too much about it, as Barneysmom says a bit of colour will always look good. Have the courage!
Personally I think you should do the chimney breast and/or the wall behind. I resolved exactly the same dilemma by removing the chimney breast... but a somewhat extreme solution!0
