Advice on overpriced mattress please

This is my first post in a long time, please let me know if I get something wrong.

We spent ages trawling the bed shops and trying mattresses, and yesterday found a small furniture makers who make beds and also supply mattresses.
We really liked the bed and mattress and ordered there and then.
The mattress was on sale (I think permanently), and seemed a good price based on other mattresses we'd seen elsewhere. We paid in full on the MasterCard, the mattress is due in two weeks and the bed is due in four weeks as it's hand made from scratch.

Today I was looking at their Web site and found the mattress is £55 cheaper than what we paid, so I looked elsewhere and found it £111 cheaper with free next day delivery on another Web site, and £51 cheaper at another local shop.
(I know I should have done these checks before ordering)

I think my best bet is to call the sales guy and discuss it, but I'm hoping for advice on how to go about the discussions and what points to raise. My main problem is that we really like the bed and don't really want to cancel it or upset them and have corners cut as it's built (consciously or subconsciously). It's a small firm with maybe 3-4 employees, and we much preferred the idea of buying from them rather than one of the main stream shops.

Do I have the right to cancel? I was there in person, so not distance selling.

Another option is to ignore it and then claim on my credit card's price promise which only covers shops within 30 miles, so would get £51 back, but I've never done that before and would assume that they make it as difficult as possible to claim.

All advice welcome. Thanks, Simon.

You can ask (nicely) but you do not have the right to cancel.

As to the price promise on your credit card you need to check the terms and conditions

Once you pay, stop looking, it never ends well.

You don't have the right to cancel. Bear in mind that the small shop you ordered from will have paid more for the mattress than a big retailer who buys in bulk, and an online only outfit has lower running costs, so both can charge less. You could try mentioning the fact they have it for £55 less on their own website but this has been done to death and the answer is that they are allowed to have two different prices (one for store and one for online) if they want to.
