RAC paid for with Tesco Clubcard Vouchers. £37 of clubcard vouchers would cover your £140 RAC renewal.

    Hiya,

Noticed today TomTom do roadside assistance, and it's cheap too. Don't know what the service is like though.

My advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience.

Cannot praise these people highly enough:

An annual fee of under £60 provides homestart and European cover and when we broke down on the way to the holiday villa we had booked in the South of France (we were just outside Lyon and it was day one of a two day trip) they were fantastic. They organised a replacement vehicle for the whole holiday, repatriated my car to the UK when it became obvious that it couldn't be repaired and sorted out a ferry crossing (Couldn't use our Eurotunnel crossing without a car :)) and a car to meet Dover, which we dropped off at a local Avis depot the day after we got home. We didn't pay any extra for any of it, the staff we dealt with were fantastic and it ensured we had as hassle free as possible experience in the circumstances.

Or try Swinton at £45 cost for cover including homestart. Also, if you are involved in the Quidco site they give you a further 20% off on their cashback site, which means that you have to purchase items on their site to claim this ( I think).

    Rescuemycar.com £37 all in.

Why anyone gets mugged off paying for RAC/AA is beyond me. Where do you think they get the money to pay for those crap adverts.....YOU!

I was all set to go with Autoaid this month(although appreciate this no good to op) With two cars and 4 drivers(other half and two 'kids'), and the fact that you had to pay and reclaim-(not good for students!!) I got onto phone with RAC(curent membership was personal based for two named drivers) and have got the family membership(4 people, any cars being driven/passengers) inclus rescue, recovery, at home. onward travel etc (not Europe) for £117!!
If I had gone Autoaid route this year it would have been about £6 cheaper but there is no worry with kids not having available funds.
Doubt if I will get such a good deal next year, but I will worry about that then!! :)

If you want to stick with one of the better known companies then the AA would cost £113 for what you want. However they are offering £50 through quidco, so when that come through it would 'only' be £63 for the year.
