Hi
I am with BG for both gas and electricity, also gas service.
Current bills by direct debit are:
Gas: £48.00 per month
Electricity: £52.00 per month
Gas Service: £13.25 per month.
Should I switch, and what is the best way to go about it?
Never really looked into this too much before, and feel totally overwhelmed by the choice.
Any advice you could give would be appreciated.
Thanks

Go back through your old bills and work out how many Kilowatts of electricity, and gas (the bill will tell you how to convert units to kilowatts) you used over the last 12 months.
Use these figures on several comparison sites as listed elswhere on the site.
When you found the best for you post the results and I'm sure you'll get some more views on the relavent companies.
PS If you cant work out the annual consumption just use the monthly figures you have, it just won't be as accurate.
Hope this helps. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
I presume you have not taken any fixed price deals?
If you are on standard dual fuel, then It would probably be worth switching to another supplier. BG are more than liklely the most expensive supplier for you however other suppliers may increase prices soon.
Consider Ebico, who have just announced a price increase however are by far cheaper than BG.
Hope this is useful?
And, you can keep your service agreement without being a gas and elec customer, so if you are happy with this then it might be better to leave this alone as I think their homecare products are very good even if it is slightly more expensive than other providers.0
