First Time Mortgage....

I am in the process of thinking about setting myself up with a mortgage. I could pay £400 - £500 a month to it. The thought of it all is confusing to say the least. I want somewhere decent, thats affordable and somewhere i will enjoy.
Take all the factors in, fees, how much i can get etc and im bricking it. Can i decide to move house in say 9 years if i took a mortgage over 15 years etc?
Can i take a mortgage for say £95K and say the property is £89K does that mean i have the £6K to do the house up with?
Oh god...any tips atall?? Im soo scared!

Mark, are you single? Will it just be your income that will be going towards the mortgage or will it be your partner/friend's as well as yours?
