I read somewhere that talc helps with pain - its worth a go.0

I'd be surprised if talc helps as it has silicates in it which 'oils' surfaces (works a treat to stop baby toys squeking, trainers squeaking or pet hair tangling)
Yes but it's essentially fairly dry to the touch, the epilator glides over it easily (maybe due to the oils even, not sure) - just what I found helps anyway!
I have some olay pre-epilation wipes I got free buying m recent one, when I do my thighs I'll see if they make any difference and report back here, may be worth it at least to begin with

Glowgirl - how did you get on with your underarms?
Managed OK with the other bits, but the armpits were unbearable. Bleeding and very sore
. Gave up in the end and used the shaver attachment which was excellent, shavers I have owned in the past have been pretty poor so I was pleasantly surprised.
It killed:(and I hated it, I had to stop half way through and come back again but the result was good and I remember my old one hurting this much on my legs and that got better so heres hoping:oAny of you brave enough to try on the face?:eek:I got the shock of my life when I did my upper lip area (I've gone epilation mad:rotfl:)I swear I could see no hair there but when I used the epilator, omg it was flying all over the place:oNothing left now though;)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0 -

Yup
Due to PCOS I get a lot of hair, I used the icepack that came with my old 1 the 1st few times, but since then I've not actually found it bad at all, you get used to it. The upper lip I'd say is the most sensitive part of my face. 0 -
Well I did go and get one and I love it.
The night I got it home I followed the advice and used the shaver attachment then 24 hours later used the epilator. I started with the 'beginner' attachment but soon switched to the more efficient head, albeit still on the lower speed (:o) and, whilst it was uncomfortable, it wasn't unbearable. I got as far as a couple of inches over the knee and had had enough (power was still going strong though) so gave it a wee try up closer to bikini line. Not as bad as I expected so may give that a proper go next time. Will be a while before I brave under arms though!
Since then I have used the razor on a couple odd bits coming thorugh but have already noticed the hair is much much finer and it is only now, just over 3 weeks later, that I'm thinking I need to redo properly.26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

I've got an old braun epilator and every time I use it on my bikini area I end up bleeding. I'm not sure if the hairs there are rooted much deeper (I'm dark haired anyway so maybe that makes a difference) but I was wondering if the newer ones also cause this to happen? I'd be interested to get a new one if this wasn't the case.2013: Interflora Vouchers, Christmas Decorations, NNUK goody bag, thermos flask, macwet gloves0

I didn't bleed on the bit I tested but it was only a smal bit. I'm quite dark too and I think the skin is generally more delicate in the bikini area. If I don't like it I will stick to immac for that bit;)26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

Bikini area is fine for me, it hurt less than my legs. I have given up on underarms, its just too painful and grabby. I can now do my legs without batting an eyelid (after 1 month) :j.0

I bleed a little bikini area, but bruise quite badly I'm persevering though, just still a little at a time . Underarms I'm now wincing through (but they seem to grow back quite quickly). Legs are a doddle...I am getting quite a lot o ingrown hairs though, despite regular (every second day) exfoliation and twice daily moisturising.0
