ESA (and dr confusion)

On Wednesday 26th May 2010 i applied for ESA due to anxiety and panic attacks.

I visited the Dr's on Monday 24th and was issued a sick note and medication and was told to go back in 10 days time. I am awaiting counselling.
I was on job seekers but had to sign off to this illness.
i visited the dr's this morning to be given more medication but was told they hardly give them out.
Anyway she put may be fit for work even tho i explained i cannot go into shops on my own/ go out on my own without my mum/ other family member.
As soon as i realised the mistake i asked reception about it and was told the Dr asked for the medical note to be put into her tray and she will ring me later,
I am still awaiting her call, i admit she was in a stroppy mood as she was 40 mins late due to a delay in transport.

What does anyone advise i do?
I have have very small funds.

I have been waiting for counselling since March 2010.

Any help is appreciated

I think this may be a new Government initiative...they want doctors to write 'fit notes' rather then sick notes, detailing what you would be capable of doing.
I've no idea what this means for ESA, though...I'd phone back and ask if she is available to talk to yet, or if you can make a telephone appointment with her, and then you can ask.

Someone will probably be along with better advise in a minute!

Hi, i had 2 fit notes while waiting for my medical.

My GP hated them and thought they were ridiculous, but he put that i was unfit for work for however long , and im had to send them to JCP and it was very soon after that i was told i had been awarded ESA at the assessment rate.

    Hope that helps:)

'May be fit for work' is still acceptable to ESA - its no different in practice than if they had said that you were a paraplegic.
