I am so totally inspired by you all this afternoon & wondered if anyone could help me?
I have a Morphy Richards Fastbake breadmaker, but i've lost the instructions, does anyone have a basic recipie for it? I've found a basic bread recipie on here but that I can try, but which order do I put the ingredients in?
Also do you have to use bread flour? it seems expensive, can I just use plain flour?

My recipe cards say to put in the wet things in first, then the dry with the yeast going in last so its on top. What difference that makes I dont know as mine starts mixing the minute I turn it on anyway, I suppose it matters more if you put it on timer.
I use tesco value flour BTW, it seems fine.WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0 -
It's recommended to use strong flour for good results - most supermarkets do their own label one. I think Morrisons do strong white flour for about 70p."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0

Lidl do bread flour for 49p and it gives great results.:smileyhea0

My Panasonic breadmaker does it the other way round and says to put the dry stuff in first with the yeast in the bottom and wet stuff last! I don't suppose it matters as long as its one way or the other! I think it may be because the yeast has to be warmed before it is mixed and putting it with the wet ingredients would just cool it (correct me if Im wrong!)0 -
Hi Carriel
I have the same breadmaker and the recipe I use is as follows in this order:
1 and a half cups lukewarm water
4 tblsps oil
4 cups of strong bread flour
2 tsps milk powder
2tsps sugar
1 tsp salt
1 sachet yeast (I use Hovis)
I use setting 1 and it makes a large loaf.
I also add 1 tsp cinnamon at the beg plus 1 cup of mixed fruit when it beeps to produce a fruit load. Both are scrummy.
I found the recipe on the breadmakers thread so many thanks to the person who originally posted.
