  • Sorry for the bump. Any progress on this, OP? Have you initiated court proceedings?

192.com may help, you will need more than a name though. Is hi company a limited? IF so companies house should have all its details. Or a website? a whois search can turn up valuable info.

What about facebook, myspace, flickr? If you search him on there you may be able to set up a new profile and add him to find out details of his whereabouts. Maybe act interested?
    Back by no demand whatsoever.
  • He was a limited company but I have heard that they ceased trading on 01/09/2010.
I have looked at 192.com but the most recent info they have is 2010 electrol register and that is not up to date enough!!!
The guy is such a slime!!!! Seems he has done it to so many couples and he really does not care!!!

Is he still updating his website? You could always try getting a friend to give him a ring and pose as someone looking for a wedding video, they could then get him to tell them his address to send a deposit etc, then you could use this information to send him to court papers.

    Doesn't necessarily work.

I'm really sorry to read this post, and don't have anything much helpful to add, except this is a sad example of why it's a good idea to have wedding insurance and use any protection afforded by (using your) credit card if you have one.

I really hope you get your money back.
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.

I think as stated previously getting money back is the least of the concerns.

I do understand that, but I think the hope of getting the wedding video is sadly not going to come to fruition, so I hope they can at least get what they are able.

There are a lot of things that the money could be used for to make more and new cherished memories like a rock the frock shoot for example. Of course it's not the same as having their wedding video, but it's yet another happy wedding memory that they can create.

I know that I would be swinging between devastated and extremely angry, but that can only get you so far, and sometimes you do have to remember to cherish all the good things, and after exploring all possibilities chase the possible not the impossible.
