exercise bikes have belts, spinning bikes have brake pads (more like a normal bike)

Some also have chains and others are direct drive using either friction from a block or electromagnet.
That about covers all of 'em.0 -
Get a real bike then the question is moot and it serves a purpose (apart from being a clothes hanger!)0
