Park and ride - Liverpool Airport

I live in Preston and the public transport trip to the airport is slow with 3/4 changes.

Flying at 9.30am friday returning Sunday at 5pm.

Airport parking is around £22 + fuel for driving.

I wondered if there were any free park and rides, on a bus route to the airport?

Or even a street I could park on, that is on a bus route..?

Please help!?

I wonder what the parking restrictions are like in Speke?
  • google earth Liverpool South Parkway, this is the train station near to the airport and there are lots of streets around there, and a car park to pay for. The bus will take you to the airport and it should be running all hours as its the airport service. I think its the 500 and there should be a link with all the details on the airport website

No idea of the fares etc, but shouldn't be too much.

    Don't understand this bit.

Train from Preston to Liverpool South Parkway takes between an hour and an hour and a half with just one change at Warrington.
An Anytime Return costs £13.70, valid on any train.
The first train will get you there at 07:01.

    Hope this helps.

You wouldn't want to park your car in Speke !

No overnight parking is allowed at South Parkway - although you could driver 500 yards and park for free.

I'm from Liverpool and I wouldn't park anywhere around the airport so I always pay for the secure parking especially after a friend of ours parked in a street on an estate close to airport and came back 4 days later to find his car had miraculously moved halfway up the street and had its tyres slashed. Not sure if the residents don't like airport users parking outside their houses for long periods of time or local scallies were making use of their invaluable time and skills (where is the sarcastic icon?).
