Hello
Could anyone take a look at this please?
Was trying to solve another problem and inadvertantly changed start up to Normal from Selective. Think I now have loads of things loaded for startup which I do not need. Would like the minimum.
Wary of messing without expert advice. Could anyone help please.
In my start up bar I see icons I did not have before - Activ Surf / Activeboard / LED Status icons

Do there look to things running that I would be better to uncheck to speed things up? I have a feeklling there is a lot more showing than when I had things honed to perfection prior to my moment of madness.Thank you for this site :jNow OH and I are both retired, MSE is a Godsend0

Tempting thought but for someone who does not know much about antivirus and all the other bits that protect a PC .... using something like McAfee seems a safe option.
I agree with you though, it drives me mad with the way it takes over. Wish I knew enough to feel I could protect my PC with all the various other options.Thank you for this site :jNow OH and I are both retired, MSE is a Godsend0 -

'All those other bits' are generally useless
Mcafee has also had some truly terrible 'false positives' this last year (meaning it thinks somethings nasty that isnt). Its even killed a lot of operating systems this year by removing things it shouldnt
You pays your money.............:idea:0 -
This is the link to McAfee's instructions on how to uninstall cleanly. http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS100507
The link to the removal tool itself is there.A fool may give advice but the one who takes it is the bigger fool.0
