Anyone know about earphones?

Hi,

We're travelling with first choice airlines, and I was wondering if anyone knew if the earphone jack would accept normal earphones to save me paying the £4 or whatever it is for them onboard.

It has been 3 years since I last flew and I can't remember if they were normal jacks or special ones to con you out of more money

Thanks :)

We went with First Choice in May. They were the earphones with the double plugs. Think they cost £2 to buy. From past experience I think you can fit a normal headphone plug in them but only get the sound in one ear. ;)

We fly first choice in June and yes they are double jacks - but you can use normal headphones with a single jack. We did this and they worked just fine.

So take your own headphones with you (we have even used other airlines headphone before and they work too)

If you do buy first choice headphones and loose them on hol they will charge you again for another set on your return flight.

    Hope this helps

Maplins have the adaptors for just over £2. I bought one before flying with BA and then discovered their sockets are a standard mini-plug anyway!
