I play alot of farmville :o, and now my family have decided that enough is enough they want the family PC back. We have a Dell which seems very reliable, I have a budget of about £400 (Although thats not set in stone, I will pay much more for the right lappie). I believe that farmville is graphics intensive so thats my main concern. Any suggestions would be gratefully received, thank you!

Any modern laptop will be able to run farmville without breaking a sweat, it's really not that 'graphics intensive'. It even plays well on a netbook, which is very underpowered.

    Hi ethansmum,

Yeh i definitely agree with poppy10! Farmville is not worth spending a lot more money on a good gaming laptop. Gaming laptops would be more for people playing something like World of Warcraft every day, and even normal laptops will run this perfectly fine.

As poppy10 mentioned, a normal laptop or a netbook would suit your needs perfectly.

Plus as a general rule 'gaming' and 'laptop' usually are best kept separate unless you

    1. fancy spending £1000+ on a laptop
    2. are also happy for said laptop to be obsolete for high end gaming within 18mths-2years with no possibility of upgrading

Fortunately farmville requires negligable graphics/processing power so you can go and look for a bog standard dell type laptop for a reasonable price (£350 - £600) that'll likely last you a good few years (ie 3.5 - 5 yrs +)

Farmville isn't graphics intensive. It'll run quite happily on an old Dell Latitude D610 and there's tons of those on Ebay. for around £120-£200 depending on the HDD and memory.

You don't need a high end graphics hungry beast to play Farmville it is only a browser based game with no need for separate graphics card like a gaming PC should have.
Any newish laptop with integrated graphics should play this without any problems. You should be able to find something suitable for a lot less than the £400 budget that you have. Try Currys on Comet online and look at their refurbished ones, you can get some really good deals there. Good luck!
