In a (rather large) nutshell: put items on Gumtree this morning, immediate interest from someone, said they wanted to buy straight away, got an email from Paypal saying that the payment had been made, but something seemed a bit funny to me with the email (and the whole thing really), so I emailed off to Paypal to confirm that the email was genuine and they came back v quickly and said it wasn't - that it was a phishing scam. I am so glad I didn't click through the email that the "buyer" sent me, as this would have brought me to a fake site and they may have been able to get my details.
So that's why the "Grrrrr!" and the "" - I am especially annoyed as it's the first thing I have tried to sell online. Feel cross but also lucky that I found out quick enough and wasn't fleeced.

Very sad, but its always been that way. As technology changes the opportunities to scam peoples change the the basic need in some people to take advantage of others is sadly a trait that runs through the entire history of humans. Plus ca change and all that...:(26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

It's funny, I'm not usually switched on at all (erm, come to think of it that's why I'm here lol :rotfl:) in fact my hubby would say I am far too trusting, so it is nothing short of a miracle that I spotted this. In my old (read: non MoneySaving) life I would have just thought "Oooh, how lovely, someone wants to buy something from me, yippee! Skip skip" but something about it made me think twice. Also, when I was posting all the items on Gumtree there was a warning about buyers who wanted to pay through Paypal rather than cash (seeing as Gumtree's a local site, I guess) so that also struck a chord.

well, no news. Could still be going through the bizarre approval process they mentioned at the interview last thing on Friday or could be the successful person is considering it overnight.
Random and probably not relevant to many people comment of the day - if you or anyone you know gets pregnant and the dad isn't around at birth because you've split up whilst pregnant, please don't leave the 'father' section of the birth certificate blank, however much you are hating them. Won't bore you with the details but I got a copy of my original certificate for the first time ever today with my original name and it saddened me to see the lines through that section.
