Hi (Shouldn't Be) Ashamed of Bristol,
To be honest, I don't subscribe to Proz anymore as I haven't done any translation in ages! But I used to do it nearly full time and I found it be terrifically useful for building up my contacts and customers, although, once I got a base of around 20 clients, I used the site less and less for jobs and more for the KudoZ terms, as I found them really helpful.
I have just checked the site actually and they are offering me discounted membership again, because I have WWAs, but think I will just have a punt at a few projects on the "free for all" jobs listings and see how I get on.
I usually translate Spanish to English as my main pair, but also do French, German and Dutch too sometimes (more simple ones for those pairs). What about you?
Jo

Morning all!
- Try making cheesy biscuits, found recipe on OS thread
Well I did it and if I say so myself they are yummy!
They came out a bit like round biscuits but tasted exactly like cheese straws ! I love savoury stuff so they're right up my street.
If anyone's interested....
50g SR flour
25g butter/marge
80g grated mature cheddar
splash of milk
Mix all ingredients together and knead a little until you have a ball
Roll out to about 2 1/2mm and cut into shapes
Bake at 200c/Gas6 for about 8-10 minutes until they start to colour.
And I can't cook!
My mother would be proud!0 -

Evening all :j
Today I have:
Been back to work after 10 days off
Checked online banking - still not updated since Friday, so cannot see where I am after large purchase last week (saved up for but had to channel money through current accounts - can't just get cash out of savings these days for big amounts, as they automatically think you are a money launderer)
See to plants and animals - outside plants had plenty of water yesterday from all the rain, so just the greenhouse ones to do today.
Washing done and line dried.
Sold 1 item on ebay - £16 for me, and one less piece of clutter round the house :T. Must look out more things to list. I know there is a new white damask tablecloth up in the linen cupboard, that I was given - now when am I going to get time to wash and iron white tablecloths
Meals from stores, HM quiche with salad, included home grown radishes and cucumber (very early, most impressed)
NSD apart from blessed station car park
Made some scones to use up some elderly yogurt I wanted to lose from the fridge (if you mix it with the milk it makes them nice and light for some reason)
Off to clear up before bed.
Goodnight all :wave:0 -
