Free Listing on Sunday June 6th....

I only have BIN sales, and soon stopped the best offers. Makes Mondays a bit hectic.0

The sooner this free listing nonsense is over the better.
One seller (private naturally) has a completed listings count of nearly 52,000.
Their other account has 6,000.
I think they only go back 15 days as well.
I'd be happy if they even charged 1p.This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.0 -
My listing plans for the weekend have been scuppered.
I've just had a little new stock delivered which I had planned on listing tomorrow for 10 days, I'll have to hold off now as my market is often a favourite of the 'private' sellers and they just clog up my categories for a while.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. You'll be glad to hear I'm only putting on half-a-dozen or so items
Tooo much else going on, life-wise, and the garden needs attention!0 -
Sorry business sellers, I just need to get a load of stuff cleared from my spare bedroom, I don't mean to be clogging up your categories
I'm not sure why people bother listing 99p stuff on a 'free' day though, what is the point? I guess the only thing would be if they thought they might have got away without using their 100 limit but I can't honestly believe that there are many genuine private sellers with that amount of 'toot' to clear out at 99p every single month.0 -
I'm thinking of listing some bits and pieces an eBay, if I don't want to get caught up in the free listings how long would it be best to wait before listing. Would it be best to wait ten days or do you find that people using free listing use shorter listings and would seven days be okay?0

You'd probably be ok with the 7 days as most private sellers don't even seem to realise that they can list for 1, 3, 5, 7 or 10 days and just go with the default. (I know this because I tend to help them out a bit if they look stuck, sorry)
Depending on what you are listing, Thursday is quite a good day to list for 10 days as that gives you two clear weekends. Make sure you don't finish it when people are out shopping though.:)0 -
So hypothetically - as a Private seller, I'd be better off listing stuff this Sunday for £1.01 start price then? That way I'd still have my 100 free listings to use later in the month, and not have to pay for any listings on Sunday either.0

As a private seller I always use free listing days to list items that I would usually put on for 99p as I dont want to pay fees (usually clothes) for a higher price (2.99, 5.99, 9.99 etc) ie. what I think they could potentially sell for. I do this as if they sell, great Ive got a great price for the item, and if they dont I can relist for free at 99p anyway so nothing lost!
I also dont see the point in listing 99p items on a free listing weekend!0
