Free photo edit package?

Can anyone please recc a godd free photo edit package but not picassa...used to use microsoft photo but think thats been phased out? Simplicity is the key for me!

Take a look at FastStone Image Viewer (does editing and conversions too). As a newbie I can't post a link but www faststone org with dots in is the place to look for this. Like most things, you may like it or not, depending what you need to do.

If you need this just for editing a few photos now and then maybe you should try some free editing websites (you don't have to install anything and it's an easy solution).

Try GIMP.

It is meant to be quite powerful. Unsure what the latest version is like.
