Finding money in strange places

Hi folks, bit of an odd weekend just gone....

Over the course of the weekend, my girlfriend and I found 70 pounds between us in various places.
Naturally this must be an act of god, and we cant decide what to spend it on at the moment. However, we have decided to make it up to 100 pounds and put it away for the time being...in an ISA account.

Because we are happy to not touch it for a while we were wondering if it would be best to put it into a locking account with a higher interest rate and sacrifice instant access. We were thinking of something like the Index-linked Savings Certificates from NS&I

However, we were hoping to still pay money into it over that time period if we find anymore money about the place. Are there any such accounts in existence? Does anyone want suggest a good way to spend it if not? :money:

many thanks!
pete

    No there isn't really.

What I tend to do is to build up a pot in an instant access account, then when it reaches X amount, fix it.

So you have 1x Instant Access Account, then when it reaches say £500, open a new fixed account and transfer the money there, then start again. If you do it with the same provider (although not always the top rate, I find Halifax quite good) then you won't have too much paperwork either, especially if they are online only accounts.

    Ok, thats interesting.
So you just shift it from one account to the next after a year and or £500 is saved so as to not lose out when they put your rate down?
    thanks
