New garage has no doors. Planning permission question.

    Most council have on-line records of recent planning apps it might be worth checking out there websites.
  • Odd situation! I can see no valid planning reason whatsoever for the planners to originally request it remain open fronted, and they obviously weren't concerned with that, otherwise they would have put a condition on the planning permission to ensure it remained that way.

    Like your planning officer says, if there is no condition requiring the structure to remain open fronted, then it wouldn't be 'development' to put doors on it, and hence why planning permission is not required.

    Ask the planning officer to put that in writing, e-mail should be fine as it will be from a council e-mail address.
