I feel so mean.....yesterday she was driving me mad by her Tazmanian devil impression.....jumping, scratching, biting wild cat! Today she had her second set of jabs and now she is very subdued and has no appetite at all. And the micro-chip....oh my God it was like he came at her with a harpoon, I could barely watch. I have never had a cat vaccinated before ( shock horror ) and just hope I have done the right thing. She developed runny eyes after her first shot and that still has not gone away.
I want my scratchy kitten back!

My two were off colour when they had their second jabs, but were back 'killing' each other within 48 hours.

Awwwwww get well soon Kitty xx She's a cutie :)

oh how could you do it to that poor innocent little purry furry face!!

Mine were sparko when they had their chips in, so I didn't have to deal with that issue,I'm sure she'll be right as rain in the morning x
Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind.
They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.

As Norbertsmum pointed out, this can happen as a reaction to the vaccination - some cats are affected more by it than others. If she's not feeling better within a couple of days, contact your vet just to get her checked out. I'm sure she'll be absolutely fine, though.

One of my former cats was always off-colour for a day or so after her vaccinations.

    One thing's for sure - she's gorgeous! :)

    Awwwwww :o What a beauty!

Mine was poorly after her first lot, she had a temperature and was floppy and couldn't walk. I took her back to the vet and it's common for their joints to swell after the jab.
She should be fine, but you might want to get your vet to check her temperature just to make sure as this can be quite dangerous. Oh, and lots of cuddles will be needed! :rotfl:

I don't think it's unusual for kittens and cats to be a little subdued/under the weather after immunisations. My two certainly are after their annual boosters and even after the Frontline flea and Profender worm treatments they seem to feel rather done in for the evening.
If you're still concerned after a day or so, it probably wouldn't hurt to phone your vet, even if only for reassurance.

Thanks for all the comments. Of course I would not hesitate to check in with the vet if I thought she was having serious problems. She has perked up a little today and has eaten fairly well, and I have made sure she has had plenty of kitten milk to drink. It does make you think about just how potent these vaccinations are and remember that no medication is without risk.
I am going to be a bag of nerves when it comes to having her spayed!

If you think about vaccinations, a small weak amount of the virus is inserted into the body. They body's defenses then work overtime to overcome the 'invaders' which leads you to feel run-down and low on energy, because your body is working overtime to fight the bug and heal itself again :) So it's natural for a kitten to be a bit out of sorts afterwards as they're only small. Glad to hear she's perked up a bit now though :D

I'm sure cats are overly dramatic after things like this as they know they'll get extra treats and cuddles and they milk it for all it's worth :rotfl:

Oh, forgot to say. d'aaaawwwwwwww! She's just a scrappy little bundle of fluff, she's gorgeous!
D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't important

Yes, she looks like butter would not melt, doesn't she?
I won't post a photo of the bleeding lacerations down my arms and legs which show where she is trying out her razor sharp claws!
