Reducing Photograph File Size for Uploading

I'm just wondering if anyone has a better way to reduce the file size of photos when uploading them to sites such as Facebook? - making uploading a lot speedier.
Currently I select a range of photos and then right click and press the send to button. This then reduces the file size and puts the photos selected into an email for sending. I then have to copy them out of the email and save elsewhere for uploading.
Does anyone have a quicker way of doing this with a batch of photos, without having to go through the send to,email, copy routine?

you can use IrfanView
or picassa convert to html then grap all image files.0 -
I did refer some time ago to some re-sizing software here - has a batch mode so should should be able to rattle thru them, bit old now but I still use it0

I use ACDSee - it came free on a disc with a digital camera I bought, but I believe it is available to download for free.
It's quick and easy, but doesn't do them in batch, as far as I know.
Take care when you have resized in ACDSee to save the resized photo under a different filename, so's you don't overwrite the original.0 -
Digital photos normally have 300dpi resolution if you reduce the resolution to 72dpi then the size will be reduced.0

Picasa

Microsoft has some "power toys" for Windows XP. One of them is "Image Resizer". Once you install it, you can select one/more files from windows explorer, right-click, and will see a menu to resize image.
