HOTTER Shoes - Vent

I placed an order with HOTTER Shoes last Thursday (27 May) for 2 pairs of sandals and a pair of shoes, and at 10.55 that morning received their e-mail confirming that they had received my payment safely and that they were processing my order; I was told to allow seven days for delivery, and if there were any queries with my order, they would try to contact me within the next 72 hours.

An hour ago (five days after placing my order) I received a telephone call, informing me that the 2 pairs of sandals were no longer available. I said that they had been available when I had placed the order FIVE DAYS previously, so why were they suddenly not able to supply them ... did they not keep a running total of their stock levels? Response: Yes they did, but they have been very busy with their Sale, for which orders have also been placed via the telephone.

Why has it taken them FIVE DAYS to notify me of this? Response: Because they have been very busy.

Basically, they could not give a valid reason why my order was not being fulfilled, or why it had taken so long to notify me of the cancellation, but they did say that my credit card would be credited with the cost of these items. Well, if the items were not in stock, why did they take my money? And why - after five days - is my card still awaiting reimbursement?

HOTTER, your service is a disgrace. :mad:

    I can understand why you're unhappy, but there has been a bank holiday since you placed your order and most businesses will have been closed yesterday.

    The statement that the company will phone you within 72 hrs if there is a proble with the order normally refers to business days and therefore with Friday and today being business days they have complied with this statement.

    With regard to your order and comment that they should have kept an eye of stock levels I think you are right.
