Ebay'ing to Car boot'ing

Is it possible to buy wholesale items on ebay (small stuff) and make a decent profit at car boot sales? I keep seeing sets of lighters or glowsticks etc at fairly low prices and thinking I could sell them in a business stylee on a car boot sale?

If so some hints would be nice - I'm doing the 'pay your mortgage off in 2 years' without getting the mortgage in the first place if I can...

Some example prices would be great = )

I bought several wholesale items on eBay recently with the intention on selling them at our local car boot sale and the autumn/Christmas fares/fete. I got a few girly purses, jewellery boxes, key rings, alarm clocks etc. Many items that would be great as stocking fillers. Also what I have done is, I only bought things that would be useful to me if I didn’t manage to sell all of it (I can give some away to friends and family as Christmas/birthday gifts)
I also checked the car boot sales I’m selling at that no one else is selling the same items as I am or if so that I can price mine lower without loosing out to much on my profit.

If you are to buy stuff from eBay to sell I would suggest you try to buy things that you like and feel passionate about to sell and would consider buying yourself or ask friends and families about the items you are looking at and see what they think. Make sure that you buy them cheep so you get a reasonable profit margin. I bought Winnie-the-pooh alarm clocks for 50p each and they are selling for 2 pound.

If you are doing it only as a way to pay towards your mortgage challenge, I’m not too sure if it would work. You could be stuck with lots of items that don’t sell and then you would be losing out.
There are probably more experienced people here on the board that could advise you further

Also check with your local car boot sale as some are now stopping 'new goods' being sold. One near me has.

They arent new - You bought them new, then you sell them, therefor "Second Hand, As New" ;)

I did try this myself last year with Jewellery, bought a job lot of Watches, Bracelets etc, made a fair bit on them but took a while, and when you take into account the hassle of ordering, going to car boots, selling etc, and the cost of getting to the carboot, the stall, the stock and your time, it really isnt worth doing.

Also be careful what you buy, I bought some Playboy watches and earings from ebay, while they look original and I never had any compaints they dont come in any packaging and im 90% certain they where counterfit.
