moving home with debt/credit on meter

What happens to any debt or credit on a pre-payment meter when you move home?

Does it stay on for the new tenants or do we get a refund/final bill?

We are moving from Scottish Power to Npower in a few weeks

If your moving home then just run the credit on the meter down and just top up in small amounts, if you are repaying a debt then contact your supplier and give them your new address, if they are the current supplier at the new address then they can install a pre pay meter at the new address and transfer the debt, if they are not then they would probably set up a payment plan or something id imagine.
Your question is confusing as you ask about moving home, then go on to say you are changing supplier? which one is it? or both?

If its changing supplier, just start using the new key sent to you by your new supplier and charge it up once you recieve it. if the meter has a debt, then your current supplier will block any move to another supplier anyway.
