Hi there,
Try pressing and holding the Ctrl + Alt keys along with either the up or down arrow on your keyboard, that should do the trick!

hit a few more keys, might get lucky, or turn monitor upside down0

Looks like when you were hitting a lot of keys you manage to hit a Hotkey combination.
You can try this if you are willing:-
Note The following steps are designed for an Intel graphics card. These steps may be different for a graphics card from another manufacturer. For more information, see the documentation for your graphics card.- Right-click the desktop, and then click Properties.
- In the Display Properties dialog box, click the Settings tab, and then click Advanced.
- Click the Graphic Properties tab, and then click HotKey.
- Hold down CTRL+ALT, and then restart the computer. Or, click to select the Disable HotKeys check box, and then restart the computer.

hehehe ctrl alt arrow key is a nice old trick I often do in the office.Approach her; adore her. Behold her; worship her. Caress her; indulge her. Kiss her; pleasure her. Kneel to her; lavish her. Assert to her; let her guide you. Obey her as you know how; Surrender is so wonderful! For Caroline my Goddess.0
