How old is it, how many miles on the clock? Trying to sell a car that you admit needs £300 of work doing is always going to be difficult. A leaking clutch would indicate a simple leak in the hydraulic circuit somewhere - why would that cost as much as £300 to fix??"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

First reg in 1999. and about 81000 miles, its my cylinder plate on the clutch.i take it to garages and they keep ripping me off because im young and a women . just trying to sell it and get rid0

How did you come up with the figure of £1500 for the value of your car? A quick search on Autotrader shows 1999 Kas with 80K to 90K on the clock for under £1000."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

my car is actually worth £1500
In the end a car is worth what you can get for it. £1500 seems high for an eleven year old KA with a leaking clutch, tbh. They are not really very desirable, especially the older ones with the antediluvian engine Ford put in them.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -
Try webuyanycar.com
They have seriously annoying adverts, but from another forum I use (Pistonheads) member have said they can give you a decent price for your car.
Just make sure you are 100% honest about the condition it is in.0 -
imagine the leak would be the concentric slave cylinder which means gearbox removal0

My 1999 KA sold for £500. When i was looking at like ebay, that was about average, some even less, most around £750
I think £1500 is too much,Make £10 a day Challenge June - £1700 -
sorry i think 1500 is very ambitious for your Ka... i have a 52 plate with average miles and i paid 1800 for it in Janurary 2009
Either bite the bullet and fix it, and gamble that you will get a decent price to make up for the money you've spent or accept a lesser offer and have rid of it for good.
Get a quote from different garages for the cost... £300 sounds very high. Check out Ka forums. I have a Ka and i know lots of people on such forums who would really help you! Google "official ford Ka club" they are a helpful bunchI'm surprised at how many things i can fix myself with their help

Only worth what someone will pay for it.
Why take the risk on one with a dodgy clutch needing a £300 repair or possibly more when you can get ones which dont have the problem for £800.
Remember these cars used to be had brand new for £4995.
10 years down the road to expect it to be worth 30% of that amount is mad.0
