Laptop replaced should they replace software?

Hi

I bought a laptop from a reputable high street retailer in January 09. This broke just over a month ago and the retailer agreed to either repair or replace it. After sending it off to the manufacturer, they said that repairing is not possible / financially viable and that they would replace it with like for like on spec.

I was just wondering whether I am able to get the antivirus software that I had originally purchased and then, after it had expired in Jan 10, renewed, transferred onto the new laptop or whether I will have to purchase new software. This is also the same for the MS Office package. A free 60 day trial came with the original laptop and my GF's dad had a spare user license for MS Office 2007 (it came with 3 and he'd used 2) so I used the remaining one.

Am I able to "transfer" the full MS Office license that was on the old laptop onto the new one? Same for the antivirus software.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Well as the GF dad wont be properly you wont have any come back on that. Your anti virus will just be case of reinstalling and typing in your product code.
