Mastercard debit card

Having received one of these as a replacement for Maestro from Yorkshire Bank several months ago i find i am still having problems using it in certain places as it is recognised only as a credit card which it isn't.For example my online bookies account will accept money from it but will not pay any monies back onto the card,they say Mastercard will not allow it.
