Where to open US Dollar Account

Hello,

First post. Great forum!

I have a US dollar savings account and would like a better rate of interest.

Due to the current exchange rate I don't want to change the money into pounds.

Anybody have a tip for a good account?

citibank do an account that can be opened in US dollars and if opened through https://www.greasypalm.com you get £30 free for opening it. interest rate is .25% below bank of england base rate. not bad allround!!

If you have broadband you can get a further £50 from Citibank - you do have to deposit a grand though. I got the full £80, so it does work, but you may have to nag citibank.

The Citibank US Dollar deposit account offers very low rates of interest.

The US accounts will be based on the Fed Funds rate which is 2.5%.

As our interest rates are based on the BOE Base Rate of 4.75%.
