Hi all

wonder if you can help me

I recieve for the first time £2.50 a week in wtc. If I fall pregnant will I not be entitled to the sure start maternity grant now.

Also will there be anything else i will now get.

If I start wrk will I not get child care costs help

    I don't understand - you get WTC, but then you state 'If I start work...'

    Thanks for clarifying that.

    Once your child is born, you will be entitled to child tax credits. You will not get childcare paid for unless you both work (if you both work, it is up to 80% of the cost). You will also get child benefit. You won't get anything until the baby is born as far as I am aware.

    No idea about the Surestart grant, though - hopefully somebody more knowledgable will be along soon.

    Sorry i have been a little shy with information

    I already have 1 child and that why I dont wrk we are considering having another child but trying to work out whats best financially had I better get a job first to get maternity or will I lose my tax creds

    Im confused and it appears Im confusing everyone else

    I only wish to work part time so probably minimum wage £5.80 Id be luck to get £400 a month
