3yr opitonal warranty

have just brought a new washing machine.also brought a "3yr opitonal warranty" but on paper work that has just arrived the xtra warrany runs from 2011 to 2013 .
is this right that they counted the manufactures warranty as one of the
"3yr opitonal warranty" these are their words to describe the product.

    2011 to 2013 sounds right to me, thats 3 years isn't it? 2010 to 2011 isn't included you haven't been charged for it.

    Also do have a Google for other companies who provide warranty cover, sometimes for the same price you can cover a number of white goods, as long as they are not too old.

    These warranties always seem, to run from the date of purchase so in effect you get your years manufacturers warranty then a further two years of the stores warranty.

    They are a total waste of time and are pushed by the salesman because they get a nice bonus on sales.

    If it was an "additional" 3 year warranty, i would say that the manfacturers warranty would not be included in this.

    As it was advertised as a "optional 3 year warranty" i would assume that you would be covered for only 3 years, whether this was by the manufacturer or the retailer.

    In essence, i think that the money you paid was for an additional 2 years, but 3 years in total.
