Sink help please?

I've just ordered a small wall hung basin (the rectangular one near the top of the listings. Can anyone please advise what size pop up waste I'd need for something like this?

by pop up do you mean operated by a pushrod on the tap? (personaly i would avoid these as never seem to last long).
if so the waste should come with the tap you buy, if you buy a tap for a basin it will come at the correct size (32mm), you just need to make sure the waste is slotted as your basin has integral overflow.

or by pop up do you mean press to close/press to open? (otherwise known as clik clak i think). would be my choice. again 32mm slotted.

ps 32mm = 1 1/4" or may simply say "basin waste"

38mm or 1 1/2" is for kitchen sinks/baths/showers

That's really helpful thank you. It's just a standard pop up by pressing type, not the rod type, been there before too!

I'm a bit annoyed as I ordered one from ebay listed as standard basin waste but it came and it was 1 3/4"!

technically, 1 1/4", will refer to the size of the waste pipe to suit the trap to suit the waste, if that makes sense...you will find that the diameter of the thread on your waste is more than this, just measured mine at about 40mm, just over 1 1/2". in theory i'm sure they should all be the same.......hmmm.....ebay....
guess you can't drop the wast into your new sink yet, do you have another basin or old trap you can compare with before ordering another?
