Metal Ring/Washer?

Hello, when the joiner fitted a new worktop he cut the hole for the mixer tap too big. Now the tap doesn't stay tight on the worktop and wobbles when the mixer part is moved.

I am looking for a biggish metal (preferrably brushed) ring. Outer diameter 6 cms or more and an internal diameter of 3.5 cms but can't find one in B&Q or Screwfix. They only do small metal ones or bigger plastic ones. l plan to put it between the tap and the worktop so that I can tighten it to stop it wobbling.

Does anyone know where I can pick/get one made up a metal of this size? It would be a great help.

Thanks

  • Hi,

if you can't find one in the shops, have you got an engineering workshop near you, or a friend with a lathe, could maybe turn one out for you.

Hi, thanks for your reply. That would be ideal but I don't know any in the Glasgow area. I was wondering if there are any places online?

    why metal?
make it out of hardwood or plywood. simple enough to cut a circle of wood 6cms, and the inner cricle of 3.5cms
use the right thickness of wood and it should fit perfectly.

at a pinch use a worktop cutoff. but itll need sealing before you fit it.
    Get some gorm.
