When it all goes 'PETE TONG' - Easier for men or women?

icon5.gifEasier for Men or Women?
Hi all,

Just been thinking about things whilst not been able to get to sleep.

Relationship/MARRIAGE break up's.......... which is never easy BUT...

is the whole process of dealing with all the emotions and moving on easier for men or women?

I think it's the same for both but to different degrees but then from experience women are more in tune with their feeling so............

Would love to know your thoughts.

I think women can often share their emotions with friends/family easier - have a good rant and a cry and rationalise things, it's therapy for free, whereas men don't always have that opportunity. They're told to put on a brave face/stiff upper lip/man up/get over it and so emotions that need to be released get pushed back down which is not good as then they sometimes get channeled in unhealthy ways - depression, aggression, addiction.

Also (a bit of generalisation I know) women are often busier outside of work, they may have family to see to, a house to run etc so they literally don't have time to sit round dwelling on stuff - life goes on and before you know it, weeks and months have passed and you've coped.

However, having said all that, the last big relationship break up I had I ended up moving 200 miles away and virtually starting a new life for myself - was the best decision I ever made though.

I'm a big believer in fate, yet don't buy the whole notion of 'soul-mates' you can make a relationship work with any number of people. Whenever I read about couples saying 'they were my best friend as well as my lover' - I think 'yep, and if the relationship goes '*its up' who you going to turn to?' I don't think you should do everything together and share everything - have your own friends and interests, then you will still have those things in your life should the relationship end.

I think it depends upon the person rather than the sex of the person. You can generalise but I don't think it is one of those situations where normal responses are the norm!

I agree. It depends entirely on the individual and the circumstances. You can't generalise according to gender on this one.
