HSBC Loan Protection

Hi Just found an old HSBC statement from 2001. States loan Capital £9760.00 paid in then same date says Loan Protection DR £1760.02?

I cant remember back that far and I was unsure if i took a loan out? (I obviously did!), there is a sort code & ac no next to loan capital, would that be HSBC's acc putting the money into our account? Its just Loan Protection clearly taken out our account .

Should i just send template letter and statements showing the loan protection? :o

Thanks

    Hi there

If the policy was mis sold then yes do give it a go, I think probably back then they probably just added it in automatically anyway, but check the link below for further information, and you will find a Stage one FOS Questionniare, this is instead of template letters further down the page on link below.

The Financial ombudsman service (FOS) have recently issued these questionnaires for the purpose of reclaiming PPI, complete and keep a copy in case you need to refer to it later on, they have 8 weeks in full to respond.

If you have any old bank statements from when you used to pay for the loan, you may come across the account number of this loan shown normally next to the loan repayments.

Hope this helps, good luck and post within the post office for your proof of posting.;)
