415 views and only 11 responses? Sooo many lurkers here! Still, at least your contributions more useful than Chrissy's. :rotfl:
I've contacted trading standards and they think I have a case. The advert is still out btw.0 -
It's another rule of the internet that on forums like this if someone mentions "Bait and Switch" in their thread title, there is a certainty of 100% that it is nothing of the sort.0

Why didn't you just go to your local stores to see if the freebie was available instead of waiting to hear from the supplier? I must say I've never heard of anyone doing it this way before.
I'm sure the vast majority of us would safely assume that a freebie would not still be available several days later ,which is when you decided to get it yourself.0 -

Just because he didn't agree with you then? Nice!
Adverts can be prebooked and not easy to change hence why it is still out, also some stores could still have some stock left if it is a nationalThe Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!

I asked for was advise regarding CONSUMER rights. If you don't know what that is, move along.
I did everything to protect the reputation of the company involved, even omitting small details, so I can't understand why some people are getting so defensive.
As for trying to phone them, it's always a nightmare for me. Nobody answers. IF you eventually get through to a person, the only outcome you'll get is the promise of a call back you will never get. How's that for service?
I went to the shop 3 days after trying to contact them, not one week. Considering the fact that it's a small magazine that only comes out a few times a year it was surprising that the store ran out of gifts so soon isn't it?
Anyway I'd like to thank somethingcorporate and darksun for sharing their knowledge with me. You've been amazing!0
