Hi all,

Apologise if this has been posted before, I tend to get lost amongst message boards!

Does anyone have any ideas about where to get free stationery? I am starting an OU course soon and as a carer I am desperately trying to keep my costs down - even if it means saving 50p pen!

Mostly looking for pens and paper, any help would be great, thanks!

    Hi
Try contacting stationary companies, they are usually very amenable.

email bic and other pen companys. I got a 10pk of bic pens free in september.
I said that I was starting an exam yr and that they were the best lasting pens that you can get. Its worth a shot.

But it'll help if you can spell their product correctly ....

Paper, envelopes, pens etc are STATIONERY. Spell it with an E (remember, E for envelope).

Stationary is the word you use for being still, staying in one place.

Sorry I know it seems pedantic, but it is a mistake I see with increasing frequency (including in my son's school), and I do think it's important.

Thank you for correcting me and trying to make me look incredibly stupid. I must point out that I am actually quite intelligent (I already have a degree) and I really do not feel the sarcastic tone of your post was warranted.

I was certainly not aware that I was required to post messages that demonstrated my grasp of the English language.

But the poster was right to correct your spelling because someone else who wants the same information will search with the correct spelling and will not find this thread. They will then start another thread about the same subject and will then be flamed.

If people bothered to spell correctly there would be fewer duplicate threads.:)

You can get 'free' pens in Argos and bookmakers.

If you get a magnifying glass you can write really really small and use the Argos order coupons instead of A4 paper.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.
