Electric panel heater replacement

Hello,
I'm just in the process of buying a new flat. I noticed during my viewings that the living room has a big, old electric heater on the wall. This area doesn't get gas, so I wondered if I could change this monster heater for something a little nicer to look at and more energy efficient, while still heating the room. Here are the other details of the situation...
Room size : 17' x 12'
One outside wall with dbl glazing
One wall adjacent to stairwell (to upper flat)
One wall adjacent to neighboring building
And one wall runs along the hallway.
The whole flat has cavity wall insulation.
Laminate flooring with reasonable quality underlay.
Any suggestions on models / makes of possible heaters would be great.
Cheers,
JT

You may have a night storage heater.
This could be cheaper for you to run than a panel heater which would use day rate electricity.
BTW All electric heaters are 100% efficient. Some may have timers/thermostats which make them more economical to run. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
