Sanyo Microwave Repair or Replace

My Sanyo Super Showerwave is about 6 years old now and is a brilliant microwave and is used all the time, mostly for the oven rather than microwave. I do lots of cake baking too which all turn out great. Some tome ago the turntable stopped turning but i have continued to use it with no problems, just turning food round myself halfway through.
Today though i put some potaotes in for jacket potatoes and noticed some sparking and when i looked for some reason the metal of the grill rack has melted into the glass of the turntable  and the turntable is cracked into 3 pieces and i have no idea why its happened. I have to say that if i hadnt seen it for myself i would never believe that the glass melted onto the foot of the rack (there is small crater in the glass where its melted on the rack leg).
I have carried on using it with no turntable just the other metal rack i have for the potatoes with no problem.
What im wondering is wether to get a new microwave now or replacment parts for this.
I can get a new turntable online for £12.99 which i think is really good and a turntable shaft (not too sure what this is) for £3.99 what im wondering is will this turntable shaft bit mend the rotating action so that the turntable starts to go round again?
Also how can you test if your microwave is cooking properly? If i can spend about £20-30 getting it sorted then it will be worth it but much more than that and i would probably be best to get a new one.

Get it repaired professionally - in order they can check the door seal hasn't been affected by the meltdown, and is leaking microwaves. They're not a DIY item to repair.
If the advice is to get rid - there's a lot of Sanyo here :-

.... lots with grill - but not oven - at a quick glance. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
I would go for a new one for the guarantee - you never know what else might go wrong after your m'wave has been stressed like that!I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0
